In 2015, UNESCO approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This agenda is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It also seeks to strengthen universal peace and larger freedoms. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals included in the agenda balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, social and environmental.
There are so many ways to practice sustainability as a member of the community. It can be as simple as drinking more water, portion control, eating more of the good stuff, and limiting sugar. Sustainability of our community can always be improved through the decision to practice these healthy diet choices and dispose of our waste properly through recycling. Your individual efforts play a huge role in maintaining the city we all know and love.
